Oracle is a database and application company headquartered in Redwood Shores,

California. Perhaps you might have heard of its CEO, larry Ellison, who is

always in the news being some type of a bad-guy. The software is used

internationally, and was originally developed for the CIA. Ellison, after being

fired from the startup company several times, finally bought the company and is

now one of the richest guys in the world (as well as being hated by many in the

world).

Many small to large companies use this software to manage their data in some

manner ... and those of us who know how to create, manage and report from an

Oracle database are called Oracle programmers, engineers or database

administrators.
