Guest guest
Hi ph- I never had depression and anxiety both with anything other than hypothyroidism. Your levels are hypothyrioid. I can't say for certain but your thyroid levels are probably getting even more hypothyroid after RAI. I don't know when you had it but it's going to take you a while to stabilize. One hundred mcg of Synthroid is not very much for a full grown adult male and I think you need to be aggressive about what you need especially with a TSH of 57. Take care, dx & RAI 1987 (at age 24) > I'll try to do this without goin on to long. > first off i have delt with depperssion for most of my life that > would come and go, I did notice years ago that a few days befor the > depperssion would hit me ,I would get a feeling in my gut like > something was wrong.like when you had to slam the brakes on to avoid > a car wreck, and you would get the butterflies.A day or so later the > depperssion would set in on me. > AS far as my graves disease, I know that I must of had it for years > before i knew it.At first I had no ins ,so my family doctor tryed to > help as much as he could. At first he thought it was just > hypothyroidism and put me on tap for a month or so, And said that > will bump the thyroid into working right. Guest guest
ph, It is best to get blood work before making any dosage changes. I wouldn't adjust doses by " feel, " as hyper and hypO can feel similar in some ways. You really need data to guide you. Thyroid levels (Free T3 and Free T4) should be at about the middle of the " normal " range, with a TSH between 1 and 2. Everyone has their own " set point " (the numbers at which they feel best), so that is why getting a copy of labs and making notes that day of how you felt (attach the notes to the labs) as a way of keeping track is important; it will help you find your set point. This is how you learn to adjust your meds.
