I too am mightily peeved at the system that denies people information to make good choices. That's how I understood this. I must confess to not having the whole thread available to parse every sentence. I know in this case how easy it is to take offense at what Lara said since I do still have that original post. Yes the phrase standing up for herself, etc. MIGHT be incendiary. But it just might easily NOT be. She apologized in advance for any misunderstandings, " bad sentence structure " due to her discomfort from TED. I don't want to get involved in this particular thread. I'm only commenting here because I had this particular letter (independent of any history so please no one dredge it up for me) in front of me and could see how easily it could be read both ways. For some reason I choose to read it differently than everyone else. Maybe, in a discussion of choices, THAT'S a good choice to make.
