Guest guest
Hi, Emerence had her ENT, Genetics and Endocrin appts today (two different locations though!). ENT was great, new ear tubes are still in and her hearing test shows no hearing loss (something they were worried about). The genetics with Dr. Irons (Childrens B oston) went really well, this she actually thinks that Emerence may lean more towards the RSs than the SGA side because of her fingers, forehead and asymmetry but really wanted to rule out any other possible metabolic issues (her Co2 is borderline low - I know we have been reviewing this issue online lately) that might also be causing her to be small. We also took blood for the UPD7 test and will know in about 3 weeks. Then, I had thought from previous emails with the endocrin she was really not going to prescribe GH in the future if Emerence were to need it but she was wonderful! She said she would prescribe it for Emerence providing she was still SGA with no catchup and all side effects had been discussed. HOwever, since we have a while before this becomes an issue (EMerence is 19 mo old) she said she was going to do a lot of research on this to become more educated on RSS/SGA and GH. AND, Emerence now weighs 18 lb 11 oz 28.75 " YIPPEE! 19 mo old 1 wk SGA, possible RSS
