Guest guest
Hi, Our walk went well, cold, but well! The only issue, and I'll give the brief story, was that on FRiday at 11:30 am the Superintendent of the school called (we were walking at a track) and said she did not approve us using the track (we had a story in the paper that day directing people to find us at the high school)! I had been told 5 weeks earlier it was okay!!! She was mean and rude and when I asked her, since she gave me less than 48 hrs notice, if she had any ideas to help she said, " it is not my job to brainstorm for you " . This left me speechless and she said, " well, if you are not going to talk to me, I am going to hang up " . Well, the family and I called 2 senators and one representative and the school committe and at 5 p m she called and was ever so sweet and told me, " I've decided to HELP YOU OUT and let you use the track " . Thank god for elected officials and school committees! I think now my family raised about $2000 and I'm not sure how much the 's made. Any, I wanted to tell everyone that our local paper did an article and when I got there to set uup, an 81 yr old great grandmother of twins (full term 5 lbish) was waiting for me. The 2 year olds are very different looking in the photo, it was a side view but one girl had low ears, a downturned mouth, they both have reflux and don't eat much. I couldn't see that face but the ggrandmother said she definitely has a small chin and triangular face. She plans to send the article and hopefully the mom can get info on SGA/RSS. And then, one of my preschool carpool moms (okay, I'm 31 now!) came and has a friend whose granddaughter is very very tiny and no one has diagnosed her with anything (6 yrs but smaller than a 4 yr old). We may have helped 2 people! That is the best part!
