Guest guest
Once again my mom and her husband have had to evacuate. They live on Hutchinson Island, a place that has been on NBC news this week because of the storms. Last week my mom and her husband drove up here because their building still did not have air conditioning or working elevators. Mom commented on how well she had handled the hurricanes and her state of mind was pretty strong. I warned her that once she got back she was going to feel pretty depressed and overwhelmed, like a delayed reaction. Unfortunately, I was right. And just as she was getting a handle on it, this new one is hitting. I hope that all of you who are in Jeanne's path can weather this tragedy and get on with your lives. And pay attention to the psychological damage it can do to you. Do not ignore it. It's normal and you may need treatment. Jodi Z.
Guest guest
Thanks Kim! Yep...Hurricane Jeanne is on her way and we're hunkering down yet again. I can't believe this...this is the 4th hurricane that Florida has had to deal with this year. The only other time in recorded history that a state had 4 'canes was Texas in 1856. Yep, eighteen fifty six. And hurricane season still has through Nov. 30th until it's done. Patio furniture is back in the living room. Joe's car is at my in- laws' house (less trees in their neighborhood, so less chance for a tree to fall on it). Our " safe fort " in the hallway is made. We have canned goods, water, etc. all ready. I am SO done with this. Here we go again... -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up
