Guest guest
Hi Jodi, What a tiny little guy! Now in retrospect it was amazing watching Olivia grow and develop when she should have still been in utero, very painful to go through at the time but fascinating. Olivia was 1 lb. 11 oz. at birth, lost a little down to 1 lb. 7oz. We brought her home at 2 months old weighing 3lb. 6 oz., I thought I was going to lose her in the carseat!! lol It feels good to know that others have gone through this also. Leah, mom to 9yrs and Olivia 4.5yrs, 19.5lbs, 33 " > > Leah, > > > > I was reading your response to a new member and saw that Olivia was > delivered > > prematurely due to severe IUGR. Guest guest
Leah, It is great knowing that others went through the same thing. I guess Olivia was smaller than when she was born. How early was she? I hated watching him lay there, too, in the hospital knowing he would have been okay inside me, and maybe would have done a little better there. Healthier anyway maybe. They claimed he had stopped growing at 32 weeks! So, he was born at 34 weeks exactly. We had so much trouble with , getting him home. He couldn't sit in a carseat. They had to give him a car BED because he had to lay flat due to breathing difficulties. We tried taking him home in a regular car seat, but only got down to the lobby when he started turing purple and breathing stridorous! What a mess. But, supposedly he PASSED his car seat test! Yeah, right! ) Jodi > > > Leah, > > > > > > I was reading your response to a new member and saw that Olivia > was > > delivered > > > prematurely due to severe IUGR. Guest guest
Jodi, Olivia was delivered at 29weeks, growth had been slow the entire pregnancy and at around 27 weeks she stopped growing, they gave her the extra 2 weeks in utero for more development.
