Guest guest
Hi Danita, I've handled asthma for a long time with my kids, but they've improved with age, and things have really changed for little kids as mine have grown older. takes 4mg Singulair daily, but his Dr wanted him to take it in the morning, not the evening. We are seeing his Pulmonologist right after the convention, and I'll ask her about moving it to the evening instead, although it doesn't seem to make him sleepy now. is, also, on nebulizer treatments. He gets Pulmicort (a neb steroid) 2xdaily, and then we add Zopenex (a bronchial dilator) as needed. For most of the winter, we were on and off the Zopenex, but since April has been suffering from a chronic cough that we just cannot get to go away! As per instructions, when he is wheezing, we use the Zopenex 4xdaily. If the wheezing is accompanied by nighttime coughing, we go to Zopenex every 4 hours. Either way, we wean him down when things get better. The Zopenex treatments go from every 4 hours to a couple of days at 4xdaily, and then another couple of days at 2xdaily, and then we quit. Since we've had this problem with chronic coughing, we have only been able to get him off completely for a couple of days, and then everything starts all over again. Thanks for all your suggestions and ideas. I'll take the email with us to the Pulmonologist, and see what she has to say!
