Guest guest
Hello everybody: Back after over a year, and am so happy to see the board is thriving. Here's a recap for those members I have not yet met: I was diagnosed with Graves in 1999, the onset was 1998, but the doctor did not catch the slight elevation in my labs at that time. I chose to go on PTU, and after about 18 months, went into remission. During the worst of it I gained 60 lbs. (5% of Graves patients do this instead of losing weight), fired all my clients and thought I was going mad. Graves' also induced early menopause (I'm 45 and done). In retrospect, as difficult as the experience was, all the things that were not right with my life were revealed (albeit rather violently), and coming out the other end, I think I have gained some strength and definitely a commitment to living a life I love. That's it in a nutshell. My warmest regards to all of you!
