Guest guest
Hi Terry, I read your post on your foot problem and knew exactly what you were talking about. I have numbness in the toes, not in the feet but I have a very similar problem with pain. Mine starts in the toe next to the big toe on both feet and runs the length of the top of the foot and sometimes up the outside of the leg. I had my chiro work on it and he says it is a nerve. He has given me a series of exercises to do but they are so painful I give up very easily. I wondered then and still do if it has something to do with GD. Like you I cannot bear to have a shoe touch the top of the toes and I am now reduced to about three pairs of shoes I can wear without extreme pain and this from someone with an extensive shoe collection (middle name should have been Imelda) that now sits forlornly in the closet. This all started about a year ago and is getting progressively worse. My numbers show me to be slightly hyper although I have no hyper symptoms. The need to sleep about ten hours a day is the only external sign I have now and have had for the past six months but having read over the past couple of days about others with foot problems I think I can now add this. Guest guest
Hi , So nice to know I'm not alone. Yours sounds more severe than mine, and mine's been bad enough. Right after I wrote that post some little nudge in my (dull) brain finally pushed me into getting my husband-the-acupuncturist to treat it. It's far from gone, but much improved. The swelling along the line of pain is decreased and the pain's been more occasional than steady for the last 2 days. It no longer wakes me up at night when I brush the sheet with the foot. I can't imagine having it on both feet, or running up my leg! I've heard descriptions from other people of Shingles pain, and I think it's similar although probably unrelated. Anyway, if you are anywhere near a good acupuncturist, maybe you should try that.
