Guest guest
Yesterday my Congo African Grey managed to get the lock off of her door to her cage. She was sitting there when I got home (on the porch) but when I tried to catch her with the net, she flew off. I've been searching for her and just can't seem to locate her up in the trees. Her mate is still here, as he wouldn't go out of the cage, but I'm starting to really think she's not going to come back. If somebody tries to catch her, they will only drive her further away. Please say a prayer that she's still here, close, and comes back. I'm just sick about this. Sandy~Houston
Guest guest
Sandy, Two things... 1. I am going to be very bold here and copy your post from 9-11-03,because to ME this all fits together. Every time my levels were off, it was the things like the bird cage not being totally secure, that made me finally see that things really were not right. There was a definite patten is stuff like this for ME, and that is what sticks out. Here is Sandy's post and she does not have help where she put it, as she is the helper. __________________________________________________ Has anybody had any experience with losing weight, after being on ATD's for any length of time, without even trying? I was a little shocked that I'd lost any weight since I'm still on Methimazole. I'm not complaining mind you, but I was rather curious. I'm sick with a sinus infection and even though I'm not really up to eating much of anything, if I get hungry, I do try to eat something that I will enjoy, even though I can't taste much of anything right now. Lol. I've managed to lose 12 lbs in a little over two or 3 weeks. Anybody else had this happen without dieting or trying to cut down on calories? I'm very excited about being able to drop any weight, but I'm wondering if this is gonna stay off! :-) Sandy~Houston __________________________________________________ Now... on the bird. If you have another cage, set it up with food and water ,easily seen from the air and close trees. Her mate will call to her. Let all pet stores that sell birds know, as she could turn up there. Hand deliver a poster with a picture of her. Contact the local exotic bird club, as that is most likely where she will end up if she does not return on her own. We take these birds in, get them back to health as foster birds, after a wonderful bird vet runs many tests on them. We give the owners plenty of time to contact us. If no one does, the bird is then VERY carefully placed in a new home. Big screening process. Audubon Society will also take your information. IF she is having a grand old time and doesn't come down, the first big rain storm will be when she does appear. Too wet to fly properly makes it easier to catch her. ( caught one by a fast move to the garden hose.... soaked the bird and was able to catch it)And yes, my neighbors are used to me by now. LOL. Good Luck, and remember even if you don't get her back, she will end up fine I see it all the time. I do hope you are OK with my bold move here with the info you had elsewhere. I will let the others and you try to get the thyroid stuff figured out. I'm all typed out now, and work to do here. :-) -Pam L-
