Guest guest
Hello All: I have discovered, rather shockingly, that I have a new, rather strong, body odor. Although I've been 'dancing' with Graves Disease since '84, I'm new to Adrenal Insufficiency diagnosed last Spring, and a change of meds to .75 synthroid/.5mg cytomel. Additionally, I've been on a high protein diet and have become rather thin, although gained some weight back in the last few months. furthermore, I've added the supplement 5-htp to my daily vitamin regime. anyone think of a reason for such a drastic change in my body? thanks eliz
Guest guest
Hey Eliz, I don't know if your new aroma is related to your glandular troubles or a side-effect of your new meds or not....but I can tell you what I did when my daughter went thru a period in her pre-adolescent stage where she was most unpleasant to be around. :-) We went to the local vitamin store and they looked up things in their big reference books, and we came home with chlorophyll capsules. It really did help to knock her peculiar essence down to a live-withable level. I seem to remember that they had her on zinc too....but I wouldn't recommend taking that as a supplement unless you know for sure that yours is depleted, given what I've read on this list about how zinc can be a possible trigger to Graves in some cases. Good luck with this, and give the chlorophyll a shot. Hopefully it's a temporary thing that will pass soon.
