Guest guest
Hey Pam: My hair fell out in clumps for a good 6-8 months after I stopped taking my ATDs. It still falls out much more than before, although not in scary clumps anymore, but that could just be old age . . . For a period of time after I stopped my ATDs, I still felt fluctuations between hypo/hyper. I had to learn what part of the range felt best for me. Also it can partly be a state of mind - now, when I'm cold and tired, I just think I'm cold and tired, and don't worry too much about feeling hypo. I still think about it when I have hyper symptoms, but as long as the labs are ok, I'm ok with it. Definitely I am not the same person I was pre-Graves though, I never really got my strength back, and can't work as intensely as I used to (used to pull 2-3 day stretches with no sleep). Part of that is a good thing though, because I am happier not pushing myself so hard (and nap frequently). Turns out the world doesn't fall apart just because I am not busy busy busy. Regards, > I don't know why my hair is falling out in clumps if these numbers are so good.
Guest guest
Hi Pam - Oh no! Not you, too! I just read Terry's post and now you! What is it with all of our TSH's dropping? I was telling Terry I swear it's something to do with the weather Just like Terry's, your TSH wasn't a big drop either. Hmmm. Interesting that your TSI is still the same. Wish I had more for you, but I'm just as clueless. Are you going to go back to the herbs again? Or are you going to wait and see what it does next time? Now, if you went to my doctor, he'd just tell you that these hyper/hypo symptoms are all in your head and you should stop thinking about them :-o Grr! Watch out, though. My drop in TSH from 2.81 to .73 just registered with the rest of my endocrine system. I'm now back to the 25 day menstrual cycle. Another Grr! Not a thyroid problem indeed! I did start to feel really good for about 4 days, but now I'm back to dragging myself around again. Had 2 naps the other day. When do you go for the next labs? Did the doctors at Bastyr have any suggestions? Hope it's just a temporary dip! Hugs to you! P.S. I did have a small bit of good news - eye doctor said my eyes look great. Pressure good, no signs of GO. Still have my eye cyst that comes and goes, but I'm not sure I'm ready to get it snipped off permanently - too icky! And my prescription didn't change much for once! Yay! This eye doc's partner is a neuro-opth and does a lot of GO surgery, so I asked for recommendations on docs that are really good with GD. They gave me 2 names to check out, so maybe one will have a clue. and more test results just like Terry's > > Hi Terry, I just got my results back and they are almost exactly the same as > yours - and I'm not so happy either - I don't know why my TSH went back down > to .01 - but I am happy about my FT3 and FT4. Yet, I don't know why my hair > is falling out in clumps if these numbers are so good. And to be honest, > even with these great numbers, I do feel like I'm swinging back and forth > from hyper to hypo - possibly because of foods I'm eating - these latest > labs were done a couple days after a really bad hyper experience from eating > sandwich meat or who knows what.
