Guest guest
I wonder how many other kids have TS? I'm talking about RSS kids, but I'll talk to anyone who has a child with it. We are pretty fortunate, I think, because Max has mainly facial tics that are controlled with Clonidine. He has had vocal ones, mainly humming, but they seem to have gone away for now. That seems to be the way it is for us - the tics ebb and flow. Right now I have to call the doctor to have Max's Clonidine increased because he has developed new tics with the corner of his mouth twitching and some teeth grinding and chattering. We did try Risperdol at one point, but there was an increased risk of developing a facial twitch that would not have gone away once the med was stopped. I know there is a name for it, but I can't remember what it was. Anyway, when Max started taking Cisapride, we had to stop the Risperdol because it was contra-indicated. (I was happy because I was worried about the side effects.) I'd love to hear about your children and how you are dealing with TS. Jodi Z.
