My kids would spend their entire day (now that it's summer) going back and forth between the computer games and the TV/videos if I would let them. Every now and then, it's a nice break (for me!) If they want to play on the computer, I say " fine- I'll set the timer " , and then I set my oven timer for 30-45 minutes. When the timer goes off, it's time to play outside, and the computer is done for the day! If they want to watch TV, I'll ask what it is they want to watch, and let them know that when it's over, the TV goes off, and it's time to play outside again! Just be sure to set limits- all things in moderation! I'm sure even Ben with ASD could understand that the timer means " all done " . Hang in there, and don't let the guilt get you down!
