Guest guest
Lori, No way would I increase the meds. I would also get labs done every 2 weeks, not 3. You should be able to decrease your meds soon, according to things I've been reading. Guest guest
Besides, isn't 300mg a day of PTU supposedly the most a woman should take when pregnant? I thought I remembered that anything more than that may not be " safe " when pregnant. I'm sure someone else here knows for certain. Congrats on the pregnancy Re: Latest Lab Results > Lori, > No way would I increase the meds. I would also get labs done every 2 weeks, > not 3. Guest guest
Exactly. That is why I said " no way " to the increase, if it were me. And the less meds one can be on, the better. There seems to be a decreasing trend in Lori's numbers, so my thought is " why not stick with the current dose and re-test in 2 weeks. Guest guest
and - Thanks for your posts. I, too, have heard the same thing about dosing above 300 mgs. That's why I said that even though the doc said to raise to 450, I decided to stay at 300 mgs. I think that my numbers are headed in the right direction, actually very well in my opinion and am just concerned that I may go hypoT if I don't cut back a bit on the dosage. I read something on here about the chance for learning problems if moms go hypo during pregnancy and that is a concern of mine! So, I like your suggestion, , about retesting in 2 weeks. What amazes me (and shows how little my doctors actually know) is that when I called for my results, the nurse at my ob/gyn's office said that my numbers are still " pretty high " and that the neonatologist would be adjusting my dosage tomorrow. I hate to think what he will do since he already thinks that I am on 450 mgs. per day. I am really concerned that he is only interested in the TSH and not necessarily paying much attention to how well the FT4 and FT3 are doing. Thanks for all the help.
