Fundraiser-Root beer floats

Just thought I would share what my wonderful husband came up with.

We sat in front of Wal-Mart on Saturday from 10:00AM until 5:00 pm

and made almost $200.00 selling rootbeer floats for a $1.00 donation!

It was great!

Being in front of Wal-Mart made it easy because we only bought one

gallon of ice cream at a time. He bought 10-2liter rootbeers on sale

for fifty cents each. The ice cream was about 5.00 each and we bought

6 all together. It was easy! We are planning to do it again in late

August or early September to start early for next year! (our church

helped A LOT!) They announced it, gave us table to use, bought ice

cream for us and then many people came and bought a $1.00 float for

$5.00!!!

Anyhow, Just wanted to share! It is an easy fundraiser that anyone

can do! My kids asked EVERYONE that walked by if tey wanted to buy a

rootbeer float! (If you know my kids they are hard to resist!)

hey carmen!!

what a great idea!!! way to go!! you may want to talk to the

manager at walmart, they have some kind of community matching

grant. i havent had a chance yet to look into it further but am

going to when we get back so maybe i can do something for next year.
