LIs aF HI LISA! HANG IN THERE!!! My son does it too (poop thing, bath and soap). I just quit the SNT friday for the same (I thought) reason, and now he takes naps in the pm! I am not sure if this is at all do to the withdrawal from the SNT, or if it is just because school is over and he doesn't nap on the bus coming home like he used to, so he gets tired later. But I can't seem to be able to keep him awake until dinner time at least!! It may be that your son is just adjusting to the new thing, as you may be right and the multi is not okay. I read on another board that someone's son was not doing good with any multivitamins, so they had to switch to single sullplementing (which is kinda of a pain to me: my son makes it hard on any tabs or pills or even liquids at times). Maybe just keep it on for another few days and then see if it really does not change; then you may want to quit and see what happens at that point. I REALLY feel for you! I have two little ones that will get into everything before I can get to it, and so my older one pooping everywhere...OH MY! do I know what you mean. When you get a minute, between one cleaning and another one, walk out the door for five minutes and take a DEEP breath of fresh air (hope not too much smog where you live); then walk back in. Sounds soooo stupid, but that usually helps me to get back inside to the crazy bunch. You may find some more to clean or yu may not when you walk back in, but at least you had taken some fresh air. Sorry I don't have your answers ( My Biggest Bear Hug To You!!! Cristina-WA PS: A friend of mine had a pee problem after her child was potty trained for at least one yr: she found out the little sneaky guy, wanted a bath, so he was peeing on himself on purpose (this was couple times a day for a week); she stopped bathing him-just clean him up good-and he stopped the pee-pee the second day. Just a thought. )
Guest guest
For hyperactivity, these are the things that I have tried and a few others have tried that worked. 1. Calcium and Magnesium up to around 1,000 mg/day in divided doses. (I do this). Epsom salt baths because of the magnesium in the salts and the sulfur helps process any phenols. (I do this too, only the boys soak just their feet while they read for about 30 minutes, they like it). Sensitivity to phenols can create hyperactivity as a reaction. 2. Zyme Prime enzymes from www.houstonni.com - I and others have seen calming, don't know why it works. Parent with phenol sensitive kids say this product allows their kids to eat phenols again without reaction, so there is probably a connection here somewhere. 3. Folic acid - don't have a dose as I don't do it personally. 4. Chromium - one dad said they use it faithfully, don't have a dose 5. Molybdenum - a micronutrient needed to process phenols. Others have said it helps. I KNOW what you mean. My 7 1/2 year old had a bad diarrhea blowout today and somehow managed to get it all over 2 bathrooms and the carpet path between the 2 levels in our house. I planned on potty-training being over at 3 years old! Ahhhhhhh, that was so many pull-ups and underwear ago. Tomorrow is another - and hopefully less smelly day. .
