Hi all

I am at work right now (meet the teacher night, but no one wants to meet me!

LOL) and I had Adam at his endo appt. this afternoon and I thought I would

update.

First the endo wanted to celebrate. Adam is solidly in the 3rd percentile

for the first time!

Second he told me that Adam's bone age (done 4 weeks ago) is that of a 5

year old. NO change from this time last year.

So he is now 7 years delayed.

For anyone who might know, when we saw Dr. H. in Chicago she told me that

there was no way Adam could be that delayed and she wanted me to check on it

" and get back to her " .

So my question is..........how do I " get back to her? "

But I double and triple checked the readings, and it must be right since

it's the same as last year's. The endo was not pleased with me questioning

the results repeatedly, apparently the guy who read the xray and wrote the

report is his brother!

Next, the huge explanation went right over my head but I told him I wanted

GH levels according to how they dose in the US (as per Dr. H.'s

instructions)........he said we dose at the level of 0.3 and the US doses at

the level of 0.5.......(again, who knows what that means) but he said he is

now dosing Adam at 0.4

So I guess that's a start.

Finally he said he was so so pleased with Adam's progress. He said the

growth plus the fact that his bone age is so far delayed that we have an

excellent chance of getting to 5'3 or 5'4 overall. He said that Adam's

predicted height before the GH was below 5 feet (he figured around 4'7) but

now he says he can guarantee he will be 5 feet or more.

No sign of puberty at all.

This time there was no " fellow " . Apparently, they are changing the format,

so this " nurse practionare " was telling me. She said " no longer will it be

someone new every 4 months that you come, it will always be me " .

Then she examined Adam. She found his hands had a slight tremor (no reason

given, just noted it) and she checked his spine growth. I was amazed. I

complimented when she was done and said " no one in all my years of coming

here has examined those 2 things on Adam, it's very comforting to know you

are so thorough " .

Anyway, I better go and look like some parent wants to meet me (I may go in

the hall and say " come on in! " LOL)
