I've never read any literature besides a brief one that Magic puts out on

their web site. You might look there.

I do know that my dentist is struggling along. He has explained to me

numerous times (because I keep asking!) that his biggest concern is to know

when the teeth will come in. He can apparently make a good choice of

treatment when he knows that and there is no way to know.

I did consult with the dentist at the convention in Chicago. He said most

RSS kids have a huge over bite. If you imagine putting one fist in front of

the other AND THEN bringing them apart so there is a space between your two

fists, he showed that to me and said many of the RSS kids have that type of

over bite. He then moved his fists back together until they were touching

and said " that is Adam's over bite " and it's quite mild and relatively easy

to repair.

You might ask others on the site if they have Dr. (I think it was??)

contact information and your dentist can contact him.

Sorry - I must have missed this email.

Call MAGIC and request these two dental articles. THey are the only

ones out there that have been published in a medical journal, on RSS

and dental.

H - 9 " Craniofacial & Dental Characteristics of Silver-

Syndrome " Kotilainer, Holtta, Mikkonen, Arte, Sipila & Pirinen

American Journal of Medical Genetics, 1995(56):229-236

Comparison of craniofacial & dental features of RSS versus

control group

H - 83 " Craniofacial morphology and dental age in children with

Silver- syndrome " Bergman A, Kjellberg H, Dahlgren J

Orthod Craniofacial Res. 2003; 6:54-62 Study of 16

RSS with 15 treated with GHT; Sweden; found that although tooth

eruption was significantly delayed, dental maturity (crown/root

development) was only slightly delayed. Found increased dental

crowding, overjet & overbite in RSS kids.
