Guest guest
I am so sorry to hear she is still losing the weight, she is lethargic-so not burning off the calories taken in-eating a balance of protien and carbohydrates so blood sugar should be stable-had been eating soy with no problems during casein free stage and nothing changed except for going gluten free-Ok I will reasearch possible causes-malabsorbtion comes to mind-but malabsorbtion problems are most common in celiac and gluten free is the treatment-not the cause. Parasites? has stool been tested ? very puzzling, I know how worried you must be-My heart goes out to you right now-and I will look for answers. God bless F Weight loss again - calorie supplements ? > Hi everybody, > > Several days ago I wrote to the list to see/hear whether any other children are experiencing weight loss in the initial stages of the diet. Frances' weight loss and her physical exhaustion/lethargy are now so significant - in spite of eating a healthy, balanced diet - that the paediatrician thinks she should be taking calorie supplements. I am really quite concerned that something may be going wrong but can't find any obvious " faults " . Could this just be a temporary thing and should we put her on calorie supplements anyway? We are getting her blood tests back tomorrow which would tell us if she was anaemic. > > Any comments appreciated > > Beatrice > > >
Guest guest
So many of these kids are zinc deficient which could contribute ..and also if they have a yeast overgrowth, the yeast lines the walls of the gut and does not allow nutrients to be absorbed by the body. Why many of these kids are underweight or seem not to progress size wise. What about zinc supps from Kirkmans and pro bio gold from Kirkmans to help with the yeast along side a yeast free /low sugar diet. My son has finally gained weight thru this approach . (I dont know one child amongst my autism mom friends whose kids dont need both of these and have been told to give by the DAN doctor). Good luck, tracy Weight loss again - calorie supplements ? > Hi everybody, > > Several days ago I wrote to the list to see/hear whether any other children are experiencing weight loss in the initial stages of the diet.
