Guest guest
I have both my daughters on gfcf. We are pretty much yeast free too. I've added back bananas, peanuts, eggs and corn (thank God!) without problems. Here's the question: when can I consider baby sister " safe " from autism? She really displays no symptoms. She has normal speech (3-4 word sentances), great eye contact and social interaction, spontaneaous speech, joint attention, cries appropriately when hurt, offers sympathy when big sister is hurt, and shows imaginative play and imitates. I watch her like a hawk for any symptoms because we were in such denial with . If we hadn't been in such denial she could have been diagnosed fully one year earlier! Dang it all! The things that worry me is that she will quote her favorite video (delayed echolalia?) and occasionally goes up on tiptoes. But absolutely NO perseverative play, no spining, no twirling, no head waggling or hand flapping. She runs around the house looking for Daddy and says Hi to each of us wehn we enter a room. Will someone please reassure me? I lie awake at night worrying about having two kids with this nightmare. I have scheduled for a speech eval. the end of July just for my peace of mind! For those of you who have 2 or more children on the autism spectrum, my heart goes out to you! When I see it in the way you sign off your posts, I pray for you. Big hugs to all brave parents helping their sweet children with this. H, mommy to 3.5 yrs, PDD; and 2 yrs, NT; 10 weeks gfcf.
