Hi Prue,

I don't know much about Prozac, but I do know that Graves can make you a bit

wacky all by itself, and certainly causes extreme agitation, and sometimes

rage. You may find that when the Graves symptoms resolve, you will not need

the Prozac any more.

You're lucky you can get all the tests you want for free. Certainly not so

in the US!

Hi Prue,

My daughter was diagnosed in February with Graves we also live in New Zealand.

I don't know how often you are suppose to get your bloods done but I can tell

you that Vic has had about 6 since February and it looks like she will have them

monthly until the medication is right then I think they leave it for longer

periods.

She has already had a scan of her thyroid.

Because she is still growing she also had a bone test which was a hand X-Ray.

Take care

Carole

Thanks Terry

I probably should tell you that I am also on Prozac, that was how the

Graves was diagnosed. The depression seems better since starting the

Prozac, don't suppose that will make any difference to the ATDs?

How often should I get bloods done? We're lucky in New Zealand, we

don't pay for tests of that nature, even the scans etc are free, so I

can have any test my doctor asks for.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for your message, Carole. My daughter Kara, is having tests

done next week, as she is also exhibiting some signs of Grave's. She

is 15, and I would be interested in any information you could give as

to what we can expect if she is diagnosed with Grave's. We live near

Palmerston North, I didn't expect to come across any other Kiwis, it

is nice to know we are not alone.

To Terry

I know all about Grave's " rage " , it is most disturbing but is now

understood by my long-suffering partner. I just hope the people I

meet on the roads are just as understanding. I really thought I have

been losing the plot as it were, so am very pleased to find out it is

all a part of Graves. Between that and the depression, I though my

family were about to commit me and I couldn't blame them. Are there

any more stories about " Grave's Rage " ? Would appreciate hearing them,

or getting directions to find out more about it.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I hope I am in a position one day to

return the favour.

God Bless
