Guest guest
Hi Yvonne, Sorry the trip to ER was wasted. Problem is they did you a terrible disservice. They told you all is fine, when in fact it is NOT. Graves' is funny that way. The doctors do this to MANY of us. And we get sicker and sicker. The same thing happened to me. I was told it was many different things. Stress and menopause being the most frequent. Unfortunately they refused any thyroid tests and I ended up giving up. I got worse and worse. Ended up in ER in a real thyroid storm and crazier than a bed bug. There was, shaking and sweating and swearing, with my eyes bugged out hooked up to IVs saying no way in hell I was going to swallow anything radioactive. I knew NOTHING about thyroids or Graves', but somehow, the hands of fate allowed me to live to tell about it. Some people in a storm, and in ER do not survive. And all those prescriptions to take a vacation because of the stress never did any good. They made me NOT take it seriously. I now have some permanent damage to my heart. Please do not rest easy because of what happened. Also, while your memory is still fresh, try to think what you had to eat or drink before each time you had the heart thumping. Several foods can trigger it becoming worse. High iodine and chemicals in pre made food are the most common. ALL restaurant food does it to me. -Pam L - 3 1/2 years Graves', TED, and PTU. Remission due to SLOW reduction of PTU (despite an incompetent endo ! ), improved lifestyle, excellent nutrition, herbs, and looking at the big picture. Pills alone only help the symptoms. We must help our bodies to heal.
