Guest guest
I beleive when the mucosal lining in the gut has been healed, the dysbiosis and toxins gone, etc. then the peptides should no longer be able to get through the protective barrier. >>>>>>>gluten and casein protien is not fully broken down and that results in excess peptides which get in to the blood from a leaky, the peptides act like opiates{a drug like opium} causing the austic behiviors. So for many kids a strict removal of gluten and casein from the diet will have a dramatic effect on behavior and allow the child to function much better. So I definatly believe that gluten and casein should be removed, <<<<<<<<<< __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, What you said about the gut healing, I have heard/read also. But I have also heard that there is the possibility of the toxins re- damaging the gut. This is the theory behind what happens when someone is GFCF for a while, they reintroduce G and C foods, and at first everything looks great. But then a couple weeks or months later, the bottom falls out and the patient is back with a leaky gut and problems. I don't know what facts there are besides anecdotal evidence. This is why some people maintain that you must be GFCF for life. On another note, that is what digestive enzymes are for. The idea is to break down the offending peptides so they are no longer a problem. Now even if the gut heals using enyzmes, the body may not sufficiently produce those certain types of enzymes, so you may be taking enzymes for life. It is known that the body does readjust and make different enzymes as the diet changes, but I don't know of a study that follows either enzyme use or GFCF diet use for such long periods of time to say whether an individual definitely can quit either of the treatments he has chosen to get rid of the peptides. . > I beleive when the mucosal lining in the gut has been > healed, the dysbiosis and toxins gone, etc. then the > peptides should no longer be able to get through the > protective barrier. > > > >>>>>>>gluten and casein protien is not fully broken > down and that results in > excess peptides which get in to the blood from a > leaky, the peptides > act > like opiates{a drug like opium} causing the austic > behiviors.
