Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. You'll get lots of support and advice here. I am eternally grateful to those who helped me when I first joined. I am the you mentioned, an Australian and I live in Kobe and I know how lost you feel being away from home and dealing with a disease and doctors in a second language even if you are fluent in Japanese!! You said your doctors told you your hyperthyoid condition was serious: did he give you copies of the bloodwork reports? Have you kept track of your numbers each month and your dosages so you know when and at what dosage you feel good or not so good? I am lucky to have a very good doctor who encourages me to participate in my treatment and who listens to my symptoms as well as reading the numbers. You'll get some great information on Graves, traditional and alternative treatments, pregnancy issues, food and nutrition etc from reading the archives and the daily posts but if you would like to compare doc/endo experiences here in Japan I'd be very happy to chat to you privately. Email me at the address shown at the top of this post.
