Guest guest
Hi everyone, I will admit that I'm WAY behind on posts in here, but I did see a thread where people were suggesting organizations that could help with your wak-a-thons. Whoever suggested contacting your local Greek community had a really good idea. I also want to add that in addition to the Greek community, college campuses have lots of other organizations that deal with service to others. I would specifically suggest that you check into whether or not your local campus has a Volunteer Clearinghouse (it might be called something else, e.g. Volunteer Center, etc.), but basically it's the place on campus that deals with all volunteer projects in the local community. Not only could they get you in touch with the right groups on campus, but many colleges also have a service where you can register your project and leave contact information with them and then people can get in touch with YOU about helping out with your project. It might also be worth contacting the student government on that campus. I know that our student government (here at CU) often sponsors/supports events in the local community as a way to build bridges between the campus and town populations. If there's anyone in Colorado who's doing the walk-a-thon and is interested in getting assistance from some of the groups at CU, please email me and I can get you in touch with the right people. In other news, I'm taking the LSAT this Satruday, so keep your fingers crossed for me!!! ~Hillary 22, RSS
