Guest guest
, The teacher is not the one who would be doing the brushing at school. It is usually the OT, if he has that service at school, and/or the school nurse. The classroom teacher does not have the time to do it. As for snacks, I see that people are talking about appropriate snacks for their hypoglycemic children to have at school. Carrots are NOT good for this. They have basically no caloric value and do nothing for blood sugar. Better choices are nuts, raisins, crackers, cheese and throwing in a treat or two is not bad. I remember Salem eating a bag of what looked like trail mix at one point. Max takes a mini bagel with margarine (no milk, remember), juice, half a turkey or roast beef sandwich, peanuts, a couple of cookies, crackers, fruit, etc. to keep with him. This works well. Jodi Z.
