Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Share Posted August 17, 2004 The test can determine reactive & biochemical hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes (I think the latter). Some children require the 5 hour test if the 3 hour results are questionable. I just remember that couldn't eat, we went really early that morning, and they made her drink the sickening sweet drink and then they put the IV in (we put EMLA on earlier), and then while she watched 2 videos, they came and did blood draws every 30 minutes or so.
