I know that if I wait a > couple of days for testing and getting results, I feel > the lack of med in my system, and my symptoms return. > I have learned that they can get your results " STAT " I was never told to stop the ATDs for a sore throat or fever, just that I might have to permanently stop them if they were truly indicative of a serious reaction. Here is a question for Elaine, or anyone who feels comfortable answering authoritatively: Should (or anyone) stop ATDs with a sore throat or only after the results come back? I can imagine the following scenarios: - the sore throat that may persist from the Graves itself, for several months - the fact that Graves suppresses the immune system, so once one's on ATDs one is more vulnerable to infections (not necessarily more vulnerable than normal, just more vulnerable than when the Graves was untreated. With school starting and more exposure to other kids the possibility for regular non-ATD infections increases. At what point do we err on the side of caution and stop, yet risk a rebound effect from missing doses?
