Guest guest
Barb, I hope Elaine will find this in the clutter we have had the last few days. THIS is the reason some of us have become a bit testy. It happens once in awhile, and this too shall pass. Anyway... The normal SED rate for women changes once we get older. I think they make a mark at about 50 years old. Then the normal is 30. Since the day of our fiftieth birthday our body does not switch over night, this normal will be variable during these years. That puts 45 at not very high at all. My recent SED rate came in great, but for comparison, we were looking for a number in the 1,000s. SED rate only shows inflammation in the body. A common cold will raise it a bit. There can be thousands of reasons. But the fact that yours IS up there seems great in a way... heck, they will now believe you that this is not all in your head !!! so there ! :-D Here is one of the links I had saved, that seemed accurate to me. http://jraworld.arthritisinsight.com/medical/tests/esr.html Here is more to peruse http://snurl.com/1msd Barb... check the age thing,as my memory is busy right now. LOL _________________________________________________ This one has me completely stumped, but we will figure it out. Terry... I know you are working but I do believe you also understand how we can feel in the lower part of the range. I remember you helped me see that this is very possible, back a few years ago, when they were telling me I was normal. = ;-o And I figured that must mean I was dying of some rare, mysterious illness. ~ sigh ~ ( thanks one more time <gin> ) -Pam L-
