Guest guest
Hi Barb, Most people in the beginning when first diagnosed are always told they need the RAU uptake scan. I was one of them. I had no idea that they could just do a TSI test and that would be all that was needed to confirm graves disease. Like you I was so distraught w/ what the Endo told me if I didn't listen to him I may end up in Thyroid Storm. He scared me half to death. I did whatever he told me to do. I was just very lucky I didn't have the R131 treatment. I read up and found boards on Graves Disease and got the information that I needed so I didn't have to freak out and take the R131 treatment. Its very frustrating the Endo's out there. I also had an ultrasound as well they did every test they could on me except the TSI. Now I do get my TSI test done every 3 months just to see where I'm at. Most of the Endo's tell us we are going to die unless we do what they tell us to do so don't feel bad about not knowing all the answers in the beginning not many of us did. You may go through a couple of Endo's I did. I have a great Endo now and life is good. Wishing you the best. Alegra
