Hi Marlene,

The total T3 is often falsely elevated. The usual normal range is up to 181,

but T3 is not as reliable as free T3 (FT3).

The Free Thyroxine Test you had is the FT4 and most labs have a range of

0.8-2.0 so your result was slightly elevated.

TSH is a pituitary hormone that is suppressed in even mild hyperthyroidism.

TSH can stay suppressed for a long time after treatment even if you become

hypothyroid. At your follow-up visit, your FT4 and FT3 should be used to

determine

if you are ready for thryoid replacement hormone.

TBII is a measure of all TSH receptor antibodies that bind to the receptor.

the range varies depending on where the test was done, but most labs use a

reference range of <10, with levels higher than 10 being positive. TBII are the

antibodies responsible for Graves' disease and thyroid eye disease.

You can just ask the receptionist at your doctor's office for a copy of your

lab results. Under federal law, you have a right to these records. If they

haven't faxed them yet, they may need a written release for you if you haven't

already signed something. They can also mail you your results or give them to

you over the phone. Take care, Elaine
