Small 6 year old, any ideas?

Hi everyone. I've been posting about my daugher Autumn (8 mos)and

now I have to post about my oldest boy Skye. He just had his 6 year

old (and one month) checkup and weighed in at 35 lbs and 41 3/4

inches tall. He is just under the 3rd percentile for length and

height. He was a normal sized baby, 7 11 at birth 19 1/2 inches (was

Autumn's current size and weight at 2 months)and stayed kind of

chubby for a while, then he started to drop off slowly after 9 months

to just under the 3rd percentile by 18 months. He has steadily

remained there for 4 1/2 years. Now because of everything going on

with my 8 month old daughter, his ped wants to make sure everything

is ok with him and is sending him to an endo. I know it's not RSS

but his weight and height just dropped off as he got older and I

can't get it any higher and I just want to know if anyone has any

ideas! He does not like to eat, I call him an eat to live child

unlike my other son who lives to eat(he has no weight or height

concerns). Now, I was a small child and so was my brother, very

similar to my son, but my husband is 6 foot 1 and that's why the doc

is concerned. I am 5 3 1/2. My husband is very skinny and I used to

be (but I had 3 kids!) so I don't know what to think. Again he grows

every year consistently. Skye does have speech difficulty. He did

not start talking with the exception of mama and dada until 3 years

and 4 months. He still has speech and voice (vocal chord nodules)

problems and is in therapy for it in school. He is in kindergarten

now and is now realizing that there are lots of kids out there taller

than him. It hadn't affected him much before, we don't talk about it

in front of him, but questions are coming up. Anyways, I know I am

rambling, and I know this is an RSS support, but does anyone have any

ideas?

I know it could be short stature or constitutional growth delay, and

it might just be that, but I don't know. He has an appt next week.

It's like that saying, when it rains, it pours. I have never had so

many doctor appts take my kids to and the tests are endless!

Actually, I've never dealt with any of this stuff until a month ago.

Also, he is a horrible eater. He was allergic to milk (hives) until

4 years and if it wasn't for peanut butter he wouldn't exist. He

hates pediasure no matter how much choc syrup I add, and I can't get

him to eat much at all! He can drink milk now and have dairy so it's

helped a tiny bit. It's been an ongoing problem for years with the

exception of babyhood. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, no one can get

him to eat well. He just doesn't like to eat. I'm a little envious,

ha ha.

Well, maybe I'll know something soon.

Any thoughts on what is going on is appreciated. Growth Hormone?

Also, does anyone else have the bent 5th finger? My daughter does

but so do I, all my kids, my mom, my bro (5'6 " ) and his kids. I know

it's a trait of RSS and other things, but it seems to be a birthright

in our family. Is that common?

Thanks for listening
