Guest guest Posted June 15, 2003 Report Share Posted June 15, 2003 Hi Barb, The 3 drugs you mentioned are all newer and shouldn't cross the blood brain barrier the way nasal decongestants and the older antihistamines do. However, for seasonal allergies you might want to ask your doctor about nasal steroids like Flonase or Beconase. They help reduce the allergic response and the steroids, while not very well absorbed systemically, could offer some eye benefits. These take a good week to kick in but they may help you reduce the amount of antihistamines you need. Bromelain and Quercetin capsules and also Stinging Nettle herbal capsules are great for stifling seasonal allergies too. This is from Dr. Weil. The article on 10 things is on Shomon's site.
