Hi Del, A couple of things. If you have a firm diagnosis of Graves with antibody testing, there is no need for you to have the scan, which is a form of radioactive iodine (I 123). The only reason they would be doing this at this point is to try to determine what ablative dose of I 131 (RAI) to give you. I suggest you cancel it. RAUI has been known to worsen eye disease. I had a CT scan when diagnosed with TED. There was no contrast used, and the xrays clearly showed that my eye muscles were swollen 6 times their normal size.
