This whole study was based on short-term use of PTU. (I'm pleasantly surprised that it nonetheless fared so well.) Why this focus on having to definitively *cure* hyperT in a short period of time, as opposed to developing a treatment regimen aimed at long-term quality of life? -Jill
Guest guest
Yep, 6 months is nothing. I've been on them for almost two yrs, and I'm still on them. Had some interesting overmedications from a DR who had no clue what he was doing. He also believed in stopping the meds, and as I have high blood pressure, the beta blocker I was taking should have NEVER been stopped. I think this timeframe that some dr's try to work from is merely to cover up their incompetence in what they are supposed to know. I find it interesting that we have to come to groups like this on the net to learn what is good and not so good, whereas a dr is simply doing whatever at will, and getting paid quite nicely from the insurance companies. I say if they don't know what they're doing, then it's time to learn. Otherwise, they should have to practice till they get it right, for free. hey! that's starting to sound like a plan to me! lol SandyE~Houston On Thu, 23 Oct 2003 14:44:38 -0400 " Jill Hamell " wrote:
