Hi Jbabe,

You certainly have every right to wonder what this list is 'about '

being brand new today. Rest assured this happens no more frequently here,

than on any other list. If you have been on lists of other types, you will

have seen odd tiffs from time to time when some sort of misunderstanding

happens. This the nature of e mail , since we can not see the persons face

or body language, and it becomes hard to know the intent of the comment or

whatever.

This _one_ particular ' thing' has nothing to do with anyones choice of

treatments or point of view. One member was made fun of because they

happened to hit the wrong button on their computer, and a blank e mail was

sent. It went from there, with the subject heading not changed for awhile.

Sure not the mountain I want to die on.

Our list owner is very tolerent of poor manners because she has a big heart

and understands that many of us are very ill when we join, and need help and

understanding. Thus members are not immediatly banned from the list, which

is most often the case on other types of lists, in my experience.

Here all points of view are welcomed and discussions DO get lively from

time to time, but _this_ is not such an example. Graves' disease is

unique in that we DO have choices in treatment. Each person munt choose what

is right for them. The members that stay here do so because we firmly

believe every patient deserves to know as much as possible about each

treatment, and we know the doctors do not have time to explain everything

during a 15 min. office visit.

Hopefully we will have links and such to share and be able to help you judge

for yourself if an 'opinion' is only that, when you are working on a

paticular issue.

Plus... for ME, the experiences of other Graves' patients are what saved my

sanity when my body and mind when not acting

' normal'.

{Tee hee... boy, am I leaving myself open on this one... :-) }

Others experiences saved me going down the same path, or at least gave me

the warning to turn back before I got too far and lost direction. :-)

So now you are all filled in on my ' take' on the situation, and I hope

things return to normal in time for you to find some points in the right

direction for answers to your questions concerning Graves' and that you get

to make some new friends here in time.
