Guest guest
Hi Lana, You say you were on 20mgs Neo Mercazole from July until 2 weeks ago so by my calculations you were on 20 mgs for between 2-3 months. that is a long time to stay on that initial dose particularly if your Graves numbers were perhaps not particularly high to start with. I was diagnosed in December 2001 and was put on 45 mgs Neo Mercazole. I was left on that original dose for two months and went wildly hypo. It sounds as though you went hypo and are still exhibiting hypo signs even though your dose has been reduced. It may take more time at this lower dose before the feelings of fatigue disappear. If they don't then you should talk to your doctor about getting new blood tests and lowering the Neo Mercazole even more if the numbers show you are still hypo. Did your specialist do labs before he reduced your dosage to 10mgs? Do you have copies of your blood test numbers when you were diagnosed and all further tests since then? If you post them here I am sure someone can help you to interpret them. You say you are living on the central coast of NSW so I can appreciate that you do not have regular access to a specialist. However if you can access the internet there is a lot you can learn from this group and the files here that can help you to educate yourself about Graves and the treatment possibilities. > Hi, > I was diagnosed with Graves disease in July with symptoms of tremor, > heart palpitations and weight loss. > > After medication of Neo Mercazole 20 mg daily I became extremely > fatigued and depressed/angry.
