Guest guest
- I've had the same exact thing happen. And I have found that it corresponds to when I am hypo *for me*. The few things that I have found to help are using " Refresh " brand eye drops (never use Visine or things that say " get the red out " - they are bad for thyroid eye problems) and putting a warm compress on the eye for 5 - 10 minutes. You can also try elevating your head a bit when you sleep. It may be related to being hypo or it may be something as simple as a sty on your eyelid. Does it look like there's a " lump " on the eyelid? If there is, it may be a sty (or however it's spelled). Warm compress can help this subside as well. Usually a sty will go away on it's own within a week or so, but if it gets worse, a doctor may lance it (icky, I know!) Have you had your thyroid levels checked lately? You may want to see if indeed you are hypo for you and in need of a dosage reduction. Hope it feels better! The itching is the worst - drives me nuts! And itching it just makes it feel bigger. swollen upper eyelid > I was diagnosed in October with Graves and have been on a declining dose of > Tapazole since then (30 mg to 5 which is where I have stayed since about mid > Feb) > I had mild eye involvement in the beginning including upward gaze double > vision which has persisted but the irritation and pain had subsided for some time. > > > Then out of the blue I woke up this morning with a really swollen upper > eyelid which is particularly swollen in the inner corner of my eye and slightly > itchy.
