Guest guest
Hi Debbie, My sister, age 45, just discovered a breast lump through mamography that turned out to be a " calcification " (which I assume means a mineral deposit). I just wanted to suggest that you not worry, there do seem to be a variety of lumps that are not cancerous. With my Graves' I've had lots of cysts and skin tags etc. so that would be my first thought for a breast lump. Of course you want to get the best and safest care. My sister next had an ultrasound (where a sympathetic lab tech told her it looked like a calcification) and then went on to have the biopsy and is scheduled for surgery. She had some pain from the biopsy, which was done with a spring-loaded needle; that did make me think I might go straight to surgery were it me. Please try to stay worry-free. Best wishes,
