Guest guest
Hi folks, I just got the results of the P-ANCa test I had last week. It's supposed to be negative now as I have been off ptu for almost a year. It's not. It's now 1:160. Last time it was checked inJanuary it ws positive at 1:80. Before I went off ptu it was positive at 1:2,850 approximately. Guest guest
Hi Aileen, Interesting that your P-ANCA titer increased when you're not on PTU. Although P-ANCA isn't routinely tested in Graves' patients, it would be interesting to know how many GD patients not on PTU also have P-ANCA. I know it occurs in some GD patients not on PTU or Tap, but I don't think anyone has studied how prevalent this is. Take care, Elaine
Guest guest
Hi Elaine, This link might be of interest to you. I actually have a complete article bookmarked at home and will sent that too. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=1\ 2727967 & dopt=Abstract I've read extensively about P-ANCA, ptu and Graves disease but this is the only reference to P-ANCA, and Graves without ptu that I have ever run across. I sent that article to Sushela (endocrine Fellow at UVa.) She said it was very interesting. I wonder if P-ANCA along with Graves disease has any special meaning. I also wonder if Graves patients were tested for P-ANCA and if it were positive, then it would mean that such patients should avoid ptu. I wonder also if I have some mild form of vasculitis as well as Graves. Aileen >>> daisyelaine@... 07/16/03 03:08PM >>> Hi Aileen, Interesting that your P-ANCA titer increased when you're not on PTU.
