Guest guest
Hi all, I have been waiting to post this so I can get as much info. as I can. But, Dr. H is recommending that we try the Mic-Key low profile J tube before considering the surgery for him. She says it is worth a try before doing such an invasive surgery. But, 's history with the GJ tube is not good, but Dr. H thinks maybe the Mic-Key J will work out better for him. Only time will tell. But, we are waiting to do that because Dr. H wants to have ANOTHER GET done because his reflux was so severe that they couldn't get an emptying time on him. So, Dr. H is setting up the test to be done slightly different in order to help prevent the reflux as much as possible. Also, I am still waiting for this to be scheduled. Here is one for Jodi Z. If shows that he has a prolonged emptying time, Dr. H wants him to start the Cisapride. Luckily, 's GI doctor is still able to give this medicine, as he is certified to monitor as he should. Jodi, what are the effects of this and what do I need to know and expect about it? Should I have any concerns for being on this? Anything you can tell me about it would be great. But, maybe he won't need it if his emptying time isn't too delayed. Keeping my fingers crossed for that, but something in the back of my mind (and episodes) tell me otherwise. So, that is the news here. Still waiting to hear if I take him off the Prilosec at night and give the Zantac instead. He was on Prevacid in the morning and Zatac at night when we first saw Dr. H and then she changed him to Prilosec twice a day. She mentioned starting the Zantac again at night, but 's pulm. doctor thinks she forgot that he was on Prilosec twice a day! Ugh. Not that we finally have documention that he has reflux, no one is sure what to do for it! Jodi R.
