Guest guest
Hi Marlene, Much of what Fay and Jen wrote tonight applies in your case, too. The endo should monitor your Free T3 and Free T4 and start you on thyroid replacement as soon as you need it. But if you're having palpitations, you should go ahead and call to ask for a beta blocker to calm and protect your heart. The aftereffects of RAI often include periods of being hyperthyroid as the thyroid reacts--if you're having palpitations that could be what you're experiencing. A baseline evaluation of your eyes by an ophthalmologist who specializes in thyroid eye disease is a good idea; it sounds like you've had them checked already. Flaxseed oil and other sources of essential fatty acids are helpful for the eye problems and probably for the Graves' in general. The people on this board have lots of experience and information, so keep asking questions! Best wishes, B.
