Guest guest
Hi everyone! My name is and I am mom to two boys, age 4 years and 18 months. My 4 year old is autistic. We've been GFCF since August 2000 and have seen significant improvements with his health and potty training but not much behavioural change. He does show reactions to phenolic foods, however, especially bananas and oranges, and we are avoiding soy and beef since they seem to give him digestive problems (gas, etc.). I am thinking about trying out this Ojibwa Tea of Life that both Karyn Serrousi and talk in their books. Currently, he gets cod liver oil and that's it for supplements. We've tried Epsom salt baths without success but I may try them again since reading the recent posts on it. Has anyone out there tried this tea? Was it helpful and how easy was it to get your kids to drink it? Any and all information on this welcome!!! BTW, I am another Canadian. I have been trying to make most of ds's food from scratch to avoid contamination issues and read ingredients thoroughly. Some of the products we do use are: All Kinickinik products that are casein free, El Peto CF products, Bob's Red Mill, Fleischman's lactose free margarine, Lay's potato chips, and President's choice canned products we've had good luck with (read labels though). I live in southwest Saskatchewan and find most of my rice flours, etc. at either Nutter's or Old Fashion Foods. (BTW, Old Fashion Foods has very reasonable prices on rice flours, etc.). I haven't had any luck with finding sulfite free coconut though. Are there any good places to check out in Regina or Saskatoon that you could share with me? Looking forward to reading your responses and thanks in advance!! )
Guest guest
Hey there - I always chime in on the Ojibwa tea talk to add my two cents. We definitely noticed improvement from the tea. We gave it to my son without telling anybody and got independent reports from grandparents and therapists about increased eye contact and better focus. We get the tea into him very easily - it doesn't taste like anything and we just slip it into his rice milk. I bought my tea from www.ojibwatea.com and the " Tea Lady " is a sweetheart. I bought the dry tea since I didn't know how quickly we would use it and it works out quite well. I just make up a batch to last about 3 weeks or so and then make fresh when that runs low. Good luck!
