Guest guest
Hi friends, Can anyone point me to any kinds of " documentation " I can use for ammunition in obtaining direct speech therapy services for my 3.5 year-old son? (PDD-NOS) has emerging verbal skills due mostly in part to the GFCF diet. Current IEP allows only for 1 hr/week of group speech therapy. I have been unhappy with this allotment all along, but now wish to purse 1:1 speech services further since is now more " available " for interacting with a therapist. He will not say too many words spontaneously (he will, however, communicate when he wants/needs something, as in " more cookies " or " more juice " ). But I want to take this to the next level. I want him to have more spontaneous speech. He will pretty much repeat any words if prompted. I am also concerned about his articulation. Any suggestions? Thanks much. -BJ in polis, MD
