Guest guest
Hi Rose, I am so sorry to hear about the car accident. You know, that could have started this whole thing, and maybe they just did not find the real reason till now. It is past, but now that you know it is your thyroid, we can all hope that you start getting better on all of your problems. Thyroid causes blood pressure problems and headaches too. So let's cross all of our fingers and pray that everything turns out 100% better for you. I can certainly understand that YOU do not feel good about all the ins and outs of using the anti thyroid drugs. Some people need a different way to go That is why we all have three choices. BUT... the RAI for YOU sort of scares me. The RAI takes a really long time to work, and it works so different on everyone. Some people go hypo in two weeks and become very sick. Some people take months and months. There is no way to know ahead of time what will happen. With RAI the thyroid takes years to completely die, and if you do not have all of the right tests done often, your replacement hormone will not be right for you. This makes it very hard to think and feel better. Since you have had so many years of not feeling good already, I hate to think you might not be real lucky with this RAI way of doing things. Have you thought of surgery instead ? I have known a couple of gals before, a lot like you, and they did the surgery, and did real good. See , what happens with the surgery is they make you hypo right then and there. Then they get you started on the thyroid replacement pills . They start the pills either while you are still in the hospital or in one week. This way there is not all that time waiting to see what might happen. And it is easier for you. Not so much room to make mistakes. Since this doctor has only let you get much sicker ever since we first met you, because he has not treated your hyper yet... this really scares me. What if he does this same thing after the RAI ? You could get really, really sick Rose. They are not takeing good care of you now. I know this because I have read your posts since the first day you joined us. I have not written because the other gals had already answered you very well by the time I got home. I know the surgery sounds scary, but everyone I have ever talked to, said it worked out very well. And that they felt better really fast. It sounds funny, but they say their neck did not hurt that bad either. Just for a few days ! That sounds hard to believe, but we see gals say this all the time ! Did you ever read the posts from ph ? He was the last one here that the doctors did not take the right tests and stuff after his RAI, and we all were very scared he could die. This is because they did not do all the right things for him, and he did not know what to do either. Too many things to know about and understand after the RAI. Please ask the doctor about surgery instead. He said you mess things up. So he should understand that the surgery will make less things to mess up. And I really think that for YOU, this will be the most important thing to consider. No matter what happens, we all want to help you how ever we can. Please do stay here so we can help. :-) -Pam L- guess I wrote too much again...( grin ) I always have too much to say ! *** hope you see this ph or Mrs. ph *** Rose needs special help.
