Guest guest
Hi , I'm having trouble with " East Coast " doctors too. But when my young GP began to argue with me that RAI was best because it was the " standard of care " in my state, I asked if she thought I should have my irritated eyes removed too. That gave her pause. Jody is mostly at the Graves' board at Mediboard.com these days. She had a rough summer herself but seems to be hanging in there and continuing to help the rest of us. Reducing antibodies does seem to be key. One aspect is to control allergies. mentioned foods. Stress reduction techniques should help too. And thankfully, the ATDs like PTU suppress antobody production. Congratulations on your success with fertility. In the past I was able to get my cycles functioning by using herbal infusions according to Susun Weed (my husband's infertility kept us from really putting things to the test, though.) When my gyn at the time marveled at how I'd started ovulating without Clomid, I explained and she responded--- " Just like Clan of the Cave Bear! " But she didn't ask how her other patients could access that info. Elaine's been away but will probably see your post when she returns. Best wishes
Guest guest
Hi , Pam can tell you about NMT. Although I haven't tried it, a friend with severe allergies has been using it and it's helped her a great deal. Jody has been very busy lately and can mostly be found at the Graves' board at www.mediboard.com. Your thyroid function tests look good. If you had been on the 150 mg PTU at the time of the tests, you've found the proper dose. The antibody tests you had aren't the ones that cause Graves' disease and they don't contribute to thyroid eye disease. These occur in both Hashimoto's thyroiditis and in GD although they're seen in higher titers in patients with HT. They contribute to thyroid cell inflammation and thyroid cell destruction. They won't affect your MS. Antibodies to myelin basic protein damage the nerve sheath in MS. That you have high titers of thryoid antibodies does suggest that you still have an active autoimmune process going on, directed against your thyroid gland. Sounds like you've made good progress with diet and nutrition, and it seems NMT may be your next step. Best, Elaine
