Guest guest
Unfortunately, the risk of 100% no cross-contamination at restaurants is slim. I feel it is " close enough " for us, but I know it is not 100% pure. I worked in a number of fast food and chain restaurants while in high school and college. Fries, chicken nuggest, fish fillets, are often cooked in the same vats. Even if they have designated vats, some places rotate the oil from vat to vat as they filter it each day. And many times if there was a special order, the guys in the back would just rearrange the food so it looked right. All I am saying is that it is really hard to be 100% sure if you don't make a major effort. A number of parents use SerenAid or Peptizyde for such occasions as insurance, " just in case. " It may also depend on how sensitive your child is to the foods in question. Not going out at all can be very stressful in itself. Hopefully you can find a good balance. .
