Guest guest
Hi Lori, You're having what's called a dexamethasone suppression test. It's usually used to diagnose endogenous Cushing syndrome. In the morning you'll have a cortisol test and sometimes an aldosterone test. Normally, the cortisol will be suppressed to <5 ug/dl and aldosterone to 5 ng/dl. A serum cortisol greater than 10 suggests Cushing syndrome. Even if the test is abnormal, usually more tests are performed to help with the diagnosis. Take care, Elaine
